Palm Lake consists of 39 homes situated on a half mile gated loop.
In the spring of 1993, local developers, Paul and Clint Curtis purchased a plot of land along a dirt road called Palm Lake Drive. The area where our homes now rest was covered with scrub oaks, palmettos, and sand pines and could be found at the end of this unpaved county road leading from Apopka Vineland Road. Paul and Clint's dream was to create a beautiful gated community, an intimate neighborhood of 39 homes.
When Palm Lake was officially launched in April of 1995, no less than five homes were selected to be a part of the "Street of Dreams" showcase, bringing thousands of visitors to see this wonderful new development. In April 2003, ten years after the land was secured, the final Palm Lake home was completed.
Although each home was custom built, stringent guidelines were met to ensure the integrity of design, and value of each home was maintained. Homes have tile roofs, 3-car side entry garages (with the exception of one courtyard style home,) brick paved drive ways and walk ways, and must at all times, maintain landscaping set at a specific value.
Governing documents are upheld in a professional yet neighborly fashion, by a board of directors comprised of homeowners volunteering their time, rather than a private management company.
